Families are preparing to have their kids home from school the next couple of days as large amounts of snow is expected to hit the metro.
SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan. - Parents know all the anticipated snow could mean another day their children will be staying at home from school.
The Johnson County Library System said it's why it experienced one of their busiest days of the year on Monday - a day before the predicted six to ten inches of snow.
Library staff at the Corinth branch expected to see double their normal crowd, particularly in the children's section.
Parents remember the 10 inches of snow that fell last February.
Kristen Howard, a Johnson County mom, said, "I call February 'National Homeschool Month' now, thanks to last year, even though I don't homeschool my kids."
Library Manager Kinsley Riggs said, "People put us right after the grocery store on their list of snow preps."
All Johnson County libraries and government offices are closed Tuesday.
