PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. — Parents in the Park Hill School District have been told to keep an eye out for a man exposing himself to kids in the area.

The district sent out this safety message to parents on Thursday:

A Kansas City police spokeswoman said the man has approached kids at several locations.

41 Action News spoke to management at the Reserve at Barry apartment complex, where one of the incidents was reported. A manager there said he has been working with police since Wednesday to try to catch the man.

The complex is considering adding additional security and will have maintenance personnel patrol the area during bus pick up and drop off times.

"Thank god we have good people around us to keep their eyes out," Christina Gilpin, who has two daughters and lives in the complex, said.

The Reserve at Barry sent this email to all residents on Thursday morning:

Approximately 5'8"

Medium Build

Short blonde hair (possibly bald or buzz cut)

While authorities search for the suspect, parents like Gilpin are telling their kids what to do if they run into him.

"I just told her to watch out, watch her surroundings and to make sure that if she sees anything inappropriate or anything out of the normal to let mommy know," Gilpin said.
