Police catch two suspects related to Leawood bank robbery

Two suspects are in police custody after a bank robbery in Leawood on Wednesday.

Police believe the two individuals robbed Central Bank of the Midwest at 4801 Town Center Dr. They fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries reported following the robbery.

The suspect who entered the bank is described as a black male wearing dark colored clothing with a security style patch or logo on the shirt. He is approximately 40-years-old and 5’7”.

Leawood Police Department initiated a stop of a vehicle matching the description of what may have been the getaway vehicle.  A pursuit ensued from 119th and Glenwood and ended at 435 and State Line in the parking lot of St. Joseph’s Medical Center.  The two individuals in the vehicle attempted to flee, but both individuals were taken into custody.
