KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police are investigating two different accounts of a car crash that killed a 13-year-old boy in Kansas City, Mo.
Braxton Woods died Wednesday night after the car he was in with his older brother, Jacobe Woods,
crashed into a power pole at 27th and Elmwood. Jacobe told officers a tire blew on the car and he lost control and crashed, but witnesses tell police the car was speeding before the wreck.
We spoke with one of the people who was outside when the crash occurred around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
"Me and my friend was standing in the driveway, and we heard them speeding," Cassandra Samuels said. "The back of his car went this way, and then it went this way and the next time it went back to the left."
Loretta Woods is still mourning the loss of her youngest son. She didn't see the crash. She was a few minutes behind the car her two sons were in.
"I just know what my son told me ... a tire blew," Woods said. "I just saw the car, looked like it was crushed between two poles."
Police are investigating what lead up to the crash. Stay with KSHB.com for updates.
