KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police have located a girl that went missing late Wednesday night.
The 12-year-old was found in the 2400 block of Brighton, safe and in good health.
Police say she disappeared around 9 p.m. near 23rd and Quincy, in Kansas City, Mo. She was found at a friend’s apartment a few hours later.
A witness told 41 Action News the family had gone to that apartment earlier in the night to try to find the girl, but no one answered.
During the search, family and friends ran toward that apartment. Police took some of the family to the ground as they tried to maintain order. The witness said she thought the police were too aggressive.
Kansas City Police said that when officers attempted to calm the situation, several family members became disorderly, and refused to obey the officers' orders to disperse.
A female injured her arm while being taken into custody. She was arrested for assaulting an officer. A couple others were arrested for disorderly conduct, according to police.
Police also say the child admitted to running away.
