President Barack Obama dines with KC area residents, prepares for Wednesday speech

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - President Barack Obama arrived in Kansas City and headed to Arthur Bryant’s for dinner Tuesday night.

The president arrived at 7:45 p.m., and he ordered half a slab, a side of fries, beans, a bottle of water and a Bud Light. President Obama met with four people that wrote letters to him about their personal stories.

President Obama also met with families both inside and outside the restaurant.

The president arrived at the Crowne Plaza Hotel around 9:15 p.m. after the hour long dinner. The hotel has a massive security presence that will be in place the rest of the night.

The White House Press Secretary told 41 Action News the president will use much of what he learned at dinner Tuesday night in his speech on Wednesday.
