Raymore students work to break Guinness World Record

RAYMORE, Mo. - How much paper and how many pencils does it take to break a world record? Some local sixth graders know.

Students from Eagle Glen Intermediate School in Raymore plan to break a Guinness World Record this weekend. They're going for the most school supplies ever collected.

The record? 8,652 pounds. Their goal to beat it? 9,000 pounds.

"I was a little edgy about it at first, but now that I've seen it, how much progress we've made so far and we've barely even started, I think we could possibly make it," sixth grader Abby Ball said.

If you'd like to give the kids a hand, the collection continues Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Eagle Glen at 100 S. Foxridge.
