KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Red Cross responded within the first hour of the collapse of the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus .
The Regional Director for the Kansas City Red Cross spoke with 41 Actions News after he had some time to assess the situation.
He and one other member had discovered there were two families who lived in the building. They lived in an area near the front of the church. That area did not collapse, but they are still left without a home.
"We are talking with a total of seven individuals, three of them children and we will be providing them most likely emergency shelter for tonight and with food," Duane Hallock, the Red Cross Regional Communications Director, said.
Those families will have a place to stay with the Red Cross at least for Thursday night.
