Road construction starts off the short work week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Road work was on hold for the holiday weekend, but now it's going back into full swing.

Starting Tuesday at 8 a.m., construction will close a lane on each side of Route 150. This goes from Route 291 and Route 7. The reason for the work is to install shoulders on both sides of the road. For the next 20 days this work will begin at 8 a.m. and last until 3 p.m.

On Wednesday, look for construction to close the westbound I-435 Collector-Distributor road. It's just past the Roe exit. Crews will start work on Wednesday and construction will continue until June 6. It's around the clock construction.

On Thursday starting at 9 a.m., all I-435 turn lanes to Roe Avenue will be closed and aren't expected to open again until late October. This is when the new Roe Avenue Bridge is scheduled to reopen.

Friday morning, north and southbound lanes of Roe Avenue will close at I-435 until October. Friday evening, several lanes of east and westbound I-435 will close at Roe avenue. Look for a marked detour for the overnight road closure.

All projects are dependent upon the weather. For more information, visit MoDOT.org or KDOT.org.
