KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Students of all ages gathered at Union Station on Saturday to Rock the Block.
There were no problems reported at the event, despite some concerns with the unrest across the state in Ferguson. The third-annual event had a large police presence in place and was happily accepted by some attendees.
"You see everybody coming together," said Lisa Lockett. "We don't see any violence so far and that's a good thing."
A fight broke out near the stage last year, but no violence was reported early on.
"It's great because I don't want my kids in an environment that they have to worry about some fights breaking out or somebody shooting, or anything like that," said Gia Brooks.
