KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Royals Charities hosted its annual 5K run and walk Saturday morning.
The event, which began at 8 a.m. and featured a course that took runners around the Kauffman Stadium warning track, benefited Variety Children's Charity of Greater Kansas City.
The 5K run/walk raised more than $50,000.
All participants received one View Level Infield voucher which can be redeemed for a ticket to a select number of remaining Royals home games in 2014, as well as the opportunity to purchase additional discounted tickets.
Participants also received a commemorative T-shirt and complimentary food and drinks following the race.
Prizes were awarded to the top male and female finishers in the 5K and to the top three finishers in each age bracket at the main stage.
