Thousands of kids in the Kansas City area visit SEA LIFE Aquarium each summer, but there’s a group of kids who can’t go – hospital patients.
So the aquarium brought SEA LIFE to Children’s Mercy Monday morning.
An educator taught the patients about artifacts like shark teeth, bones, and exoskeletons.
Characters from the Octonauts cartoon took pictures with the kids to cheer them up.
"He has been in the hospital for seven days now. He had open heart surgery last week and so he has every day been looking forward to getting out of the room as much as possible,” said Jenny Jesse, mother of 4-year-old Madix.
The Octonauts are set to return to SEA LIFE Aquarium Kansas City for a few weeks on August 17.
