KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A dog owner is mourning the deaths of at least six puppies after a fire Saturday at his home.
Thick smoke was rolling from the house about 3:15 p.m. when the first firefighters arrived at 7234 Bales Ave.
The homeowner was alone at the house and managed to escape uninjured.
The city's Animal Health Department is helping the homeowner deal with the tragedy.
No word on what caused the fire.
