KANSAS CITY, Mo. - When it snows here in Kansas City, Mo., the city’s snow ordinance kicks in.
There are two phases to the ordinance.
Phase I is issued when streets are slick due to snow or freezing rain.
Drivers who do not have snow tires or chains on their cars will get a ticket if they get stuck on any major streets.
Phase II means that cars parked on designated snow routes will receive a ticket two hours after the phase is implemented.
All of this is to make it easier for plows to clear the streets.
