KANSAS CITY, Mo. - It's a time for celebration for one Episcopal Church in Kansas City.
St. Andrew's in Brookside is celebrating the end of a year-long event celebrating 100 years in Kansas City.
Sunday's service kicked off with music by the St. Andrew's Pipe & Drum Corps, as well as a large procession of clergy wearing colorful vestments.
Members say the Church's mission is the same today as it was a century ago.
"At the time the Church was planted, this was the frontier of Kansas City, now its Brookside and Waldo and all these wonderful residential areas, but the call is the same: to go out and serve people and love them," said Fr. John Spicer.
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is located at 6401 Wornall Terrace.
