KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A bicyclist run over by a cab driver Tuesday night is in critical condition.
Just as the light turned yellow the cab, heading down southwest traffic-way went through the intersection and plowed into the biker.
Those who cross the Kansas City intersection at 39th street and Southwest Trafficway said it's one of the most dangerous intersections in the city.
Anthony Sosa owns Sosa's diner at the intersection and works around the clock. He said he sees accidents almost every week that intersection.
"It's a real dangerous intersection and so it seems like we always have this fear that I hope that everyone is safe out there especially after dark," he said.
Sosa said he tries to look out for his employees and his customers.
"I have a handful of customers and staff that are bus riders and after evening hours I always encourage them to either wait or let somebody take them home," he said.
According to American Traffic Solutions, the company that supplies red light cameras to the city, 39th street and Southwest Trafficway is the top intersection for right light violations in Kansas City.
While it appears the cab driver did not run the red light, those who cross the street everyday fear they could get hit at any moment.
"It's just a real scary feeling for us. As a local business person who has clients and employees and going back and forth her it's scary," Sosa said.
