The Jackson County Sheriff's Department responded to a large brawl and stabbing on the last weekend before school resumed for many metro-area kids.
The fight happened around 11 p.m., Saturday at Lake Jacomo.
It's another incident involving teens this summer.
The Kansas City Police Department kept busy intervening on several unruly crowds, particularly in the Plaza area. This came despite a teen curfew in Kansas City Entertainment districts.
Mike Bliss and his family set up a grill at Lake Jacomo Sunday evening. He didn't realize the brawl happened at the same spot the night before.
"It just makes us a little leery to keep coming back out here. To hear stories like that, it's just unbelievable. I don't understand why they feel the need to do that and make it unsafe for the rest of us," Bliss said.
One teen told deputies he was stabbed during the fight.
A 19-year-old was later charged with disorderly conduct and assault.
"With that group mentality something could happen, something very big could happen, a serious stabbing, someone could end up dead and end up having this place shut down," Bliss said.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department said they keep an eye on and tell others to be aware of areas known for crowds of young adults.
