Three MoDOT workers are recovering after a driver crashed into their plow truck.

The men were adjusting the plow's chains on the shoulder of the 16th Avenue off-ramp from I-35. The driver veered off the highway and hit the plow, and the plow hit the workers.

The driver's car flipped several times down an embankment.

Two workers were taken to the hospital. One is still there. All will be OK.

Missouri Highway Patrol said the 29-year-old driver refused treatment at the scene.

MoDOT said one of the workers is newly hired, and this is the second time he's been involved in an accident in three months.

As always, MoDOT asks drivers to be vigilant and careful when driving, move over when workers are on the shoulder, and to slow down.
