The Discovery of King Tut at Union Station

The wait is over! The Discovery of King Tut exhibit is now open at Union Station. Go back in time to explore King Tut’s legendary tomb and treasures while learning about ancient Egyptian culture. It takes an estimated 90 minutes to explore.  The exhibit will be open to the public now through September 7. General admission is $19.95, for children 3-13, it’s $14.95. Briarcliff Village Spring Fling

It’s the first weekend of April and what better way to kick off the spring month than with a Spring Fling at Briarcliff Village. Enjoy live music, drink specials and hors d’oeuvres on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Kansas City’s premier cover band The SKUs will be playing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There’s also a chance to win some prizes. Severe Weather Awareness Day at Nebraska Furniture Mart

Severe Weather Season is officially upon us. Come meet the 41 Action News Weather Team this Saturday at Nebraska Furniture Mart from noon to 3 p.m. Get advice on how to be prepared for when severe weather strikes. You can ask the team questions, take photos, even meet Stormy, the weather dog. This event is free.

Sporting KC vs. Real Salt Lake

While you’re in KCK, why not stop by Sporting Park where Sporting KC hosts on Real Salt Lake. The last time the two met was in the battle for the MLS Cup. A match Sporting KC won in a penalty kick shootout. Both teams are coming off victories and are in second place in their respective conferences. Game starts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. KC FilmFest 2014

The annual Kansas City FilmFest kicks off Saturday, and runs through the 13th. The nine-day festival includes meet-and-greets with film writers, directors and actors, workshops, and of course, the opportunity to view more than 100 featured films. This Sunday, view Oscar-nominated animated feature “Ernest and Celestine.” Perfect for family fun, the PG-rated movie is a tale of friendship between a mouse and a bear. The film is based off the children’s book series by author Gabrielle Vincent.  “Ernest and Celestine” will be held at the Truman Auditorium at the KC Plaza Library, starting at 3:30 p.m. This event is free.
