Two people were shot in KCK Saturday night, and the driver of the getaway car was caught in Riverside a short time later.

Police say shortly before 1:00 a.m. Sunday a man and woman were shot in a drive-by at 7th and Kindleberger in KCK. They suffered minor injuries.

A short time later a Riverside officer was watching traffic when a gray Impala drove by under 69 Highway on Argosy Casino when he heard shots fired.

The officer began to pursue the vehicle, that crashed just a short distance away.

Three suspects bailed from the car and ran in different directions.

Officers began searching the area, with the help of the KCMO police K-9.

A short time later the driver of the Impala was taken into custody. The other two suspects remain on the loose.

Riverside arrested the driver on city charges to include resisting arrest, failure to yield, and careless and imprudent driving.

Kansas City, Kansas police were notified and seized the vehicle in connection to the earlier shooting at 7th and Kindleberger.

The investigation continues.
