KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Crews called to a Kansas City house fire arrived to find massive flames shooting from a two-story home early Thursday.
The fire started a little before 4:30 a.m. at the house near E. 33rd Street and College Avenue.
A neighbor told 41 Action News a 16-year-old girl, her grandmother and another woman live in the house, but firefighters said nobody was home at the time of the fire.
Neighbors stood in their driveways and watched firefighters work to put out the flames, some worried the fire could spread to their homes.
By a little after 5:30 a.m., the fire appeared to be out, but a thick smoke was still billowing from the home.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
