KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Missouri- Kansas City evacuated a dental school building at 620 E. 25th Street Tuesday afternoon after reports of a "strong odor."
The second floor of the building was evacuated, where the faculty practice area is housed.
Those that were inside the building are reporting of feeling ill. Garrett Haake reports a group of nurses told him they had patients coughing on the second floor, prompting them to call authorities.Thirty people were affected, but none were treated.
HazMat crews went through the floor three times and were not able to identify the cause of the odor.
There is no word yet on when the floor will reopen. The rest of the dental school is functioning normally.
The dental school has 550 undergraduate and graduate students attend the school.
