KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After Union Station's huge Extreme Screen broke down, the station came up with a whole new idea for the space.
Instead of fixing it, the area will now be used as a high-tech teleconferencing center.
Union Station officials want to add digital projectors, broadband Internet and a satellite earth station to use for business and education.
"What we want to do really is add on our educational mission with more of a digital education," explained Jerry Baber, the senior vice president of Union Station. "We want to have satellite space in the station where we can teach people more about technology and then you can take it into this space and show it and demonstrate it."
Union Station is trying to raise $350,000 to cover the cost for the new projectors.
