University of Kansas Cancer Center looking for qualified workers to care for cancer patients

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Newly-diagnosed cancer patients have hospitals and cancer centers nationwide looking for qualified medical professionals to care for patients.

The University of Kansas Cancer Center held a job recruiting fair on Tuesday and will have another fair on Tuesday, July 1 at the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Pavilion  at 2330 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Westwood, Kan.

KU Cancer Center recruiters are looking for people with bachelors or masters degrees in nursing and experience in cancer care.

"We want people with the right credential and the right fit," recruiter Cynthia Smith said. "We also want people with compassion and commitment."

Specific positions include nurse practitioners, clinical nurse coordinators, unit coordinators, nursing supervisors and other clinical oncology professionals to work in cancer centers.

University of Kansas Hospital physicians are also recruiting. There will be a job fair Wednesday, June 25 at the University of Kansas Hospital Medical Office Building at Olathe Blvd. and Cambridge Street.  It starts at 5 p.m.
