COLUMBIA, Mo. - UPDATE: The University of Missouri Police Department said it has arrested Hunter M. Park, 19.

Park has been charged with making a "terroristic threat," investigators say. The felony charge means if Park is found guilty, he could face up to seven years in prison.

Park was picked up in Rolla, Mo., by the UMPD and was transported back to Columbia overnight.

The arrest happened shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.

While he was not a student at the Columbia campus, the Missouri University of Science of Technology confirms he attends the school in Rolla, Mo.

The Missouri University of Science and Technology said in a statement that he was arrested at Thomas Jefferson Residence Hall.

“Threats of violence of any kind are not tolerated,” said Missouri S&T Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader, in a statement.  “As a campus, we are grateful that this situation did not escalate. I thank both of the police departments for their swift action in handling this case. As always, the safety of our students, faculty and staff is our utmost concern.”

He was enrolled in Fall 2014 and studies computer science.
