Historic Albany building gets colorful sendoff before implosion

(WNYT) - A historic piece of downtown Albany, N.Y., came down this weekend in a colorful display of smoke and fireworks.

The lifespan of Albany's Wellington Annex ended abruptly Saturday morning with fanfare, nostalgia and pure amazement.

The building was taken down to make way for a new 80,000-square-foot convention center.
