Michael Douglas comes clean on the type of cancer he had: it was tongue, not throat

Michael Douglas says he lied about his cancer.

In August 2010, he announced he had throat cancer, but now he says it was actually tongue cancer.

He says his surgeon suggested he lie about the type of cancer, because if he ended up needing surgery he stood to lose part of his jaw and tongue.

He didn't think Douglas would want to talk about that on his press tour for the movie "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."

Douglas is now two years cancer free.

Douglas revealed the true type of cancer he had in an interview with Samuel L. Jackson on a British talk show last week.
