IRVING, Tex. - Residents of Irving, Tex., came close to having a canine candidate for mayor.
On Tuesday morning, terrier Dylan Westie’s owner filed a petition on the dog’s behalf to be on the ballot for the May 5 election.
Mike Howard said he’s unhappy with current city leaders.
“We have a lot of catfighting going on in the city council and what better way to resolve a good catfight than to have a dog in the mix,” Howard said.
Unfortunately for Howard, he didn’t collect enough signatures to get his dog on the ballot. He hopes his efforts send a clear message to elected officials.
