Country man Roland Kenyon loves his goats and has cared for them for the past ten years.

"Feed them, talk to them, the grandkids play with them, neighbor kids play with them,” said Kenyon.

Last week he discovered a gruesome scene in his goat pen. Two huskies killed one of his goats and badly injured another. He grabbed his 22 rifle and took action, killing one of the dogs.

"By god he killing my goats! They can't, I put that fence up to keep my goats in, not to keep the dogs out,” said Kenyon.

Another goat was seriously injured and had to be put down.

"He has a broken leg, and both of his back legs where chewed up and there wasn't no way that he was going to make it,” said Kenyon.

The owner of the huskies is facing animal trespassing charges. According to Missouri law, the Edgerton woman faces a $200 fine. If convicted more than once, people can even face jail time.

41 Action News reached out to the dog’s owners, but were told their lawyer has advised them not to comment.

Now Kenyon wants the owners of the dogs to pay up.

"Now we going to talk to the District Attorney and they are going to pay for my goats and what it cost to bury them,” said Kenyon.

He says he feels badly about the death of the dog, however he does not feel guilty.

"If they can’t keep their animals at home, they shouldn't have them," said Kenyon.
