KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A worker at a Kansas City waste transfer station found a body Tuesday morning while sorting a pile of trash.
Police were called to the facility at 4000 Winchester Avenue at 4:20 a.m. and started investigating the scene as a possible homicide.
Capt. Tye Grant said the facility is a collection point for area trash trucks. Once unloaded, the trash is sorted before going to the landfill. Detectives are working to determine a cause of death and where the body came from.
Police have not released any information on the victim other than he was a male.
