KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Police are investigating the city's latest homicide after a man was killed while sitting in his car Saturday night.
Police Sunday afternoon identified the dead man as Theotis Gordon, 40.
Detectives executed a search warrant in the 10800 block of Ewing Avenue, where Gordon's body was found inside his sports utility vehicle about 3:30 a.m. The vehicle was towed from the scene early Sunday morning as crime-scene investigators spent hours processing evidence at the scene.
A police spokesman said in a news release that early report "indicate the driver of a vehicle may have struck a pedestrian with his car following an argument and the pedestrian shot him."
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Homicide detectives continue their investigation.
