Severed goat head sent to Wrigley Field

CHICAGO - Officials with the Chicago Cubs made a gruesome discovery Wednesday at their historic baseball park.

Officials say someone dropped off a package containing a severed goat's head.

It was addressed to Cubs owner Tom Ricketts.

Police say they're investigating the "intimidating package."

The goat is likely a reference to a legendary curse by the owner of the Billy Goat Tavern during the World Series in 1945.

According to legend, he cursed the team after his goat was not allowed into Wrigley Field.
