KANSAS CITY, Mo. - About 1,500 protests have been planned by workers and activists at various Wal-Mart locations throughout the country on Friday.
The protests will reportedly focus on the low wages and limited benefits offered to Wal-Mart employees.
Wal-Mart is the largest employer in the United States, putting some 1.4 million people to work, but the average hourly wage is $8.81.
Similar protests last year mobilized an estimated 30,000 employees and their supporters.
