CINCINNATI, Ky. (WLWT) - A carriage driver with Elegant Carriage of Cincinnati underwent surgery Friday after her carriage was hit from behind on the Taylor Southgate Bridge connecting Cincinnati and neighboring Newport, Kentucky during Thursday evening's rush hour.
Carriage driver Tina Hemingway suffered facial injuries and a broken leg in the incident.
Officials said the carriage was coming from Cincinnati when it was hit from behind by a black Grand Prix.
"It knocked the person that was controlling the horse over the bridge and was actually hanging off of the railing," Newport Police Chief Tom Collins said.
