JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is fighting back against a radio ad in which Texas Gov. Rick Perry encourages businesses to consider moving to his state.
Nixon's campaign committee is running an ad on St. Louis radio station KTRS that defends Missouri as a better place to do business than Texas. The station had previously decided not to run the Perry ad.
Nixon's office also released a letter Tuesday that he sent to scores of Chamber of Commerce members around Missouri expressing dismay that the group is hosting an event with Perry.
Perry is to speak Thursday at a chamber luncheon in St. Louis and attend an event sponsored by a coalition urging Missouri lawmakers to override Nixon's veto of an income tax cut.
