Angry grandmother: Prairie Village woman sounds off on sequester, politicians

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - Jean Hall, a Prarie Village, Kan., woman, is upset with Washington D.C. politicians. She says sequester cuts are preventing her from touring the White House with her grandchildren.

Hall toured the White House when she was 12 years old.  Now she wants to take her 13- and 16-year-old grandchildren to the White House for a tour. But her wish will not come true this year.

The White House tours were canceled when sequester cuts were enacted because Congress did not reach a deal on the budget.

"Canceling White House tours will not save that much money; I just think it's a political move by Obama," Hall said. "And to cancel the tours right before spring break crushes the excitement of so many school-age children who were looking forward to it is so disappointing."

She is still planning to take her children to visit other tourist sites in Washington D.C., but she will only be able to see the outside of the White House.
