Briarwood Elementary Girl Scouts sell cookies to screen anti-bullying documentary

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - The Briarwood Elementary sixth grade Girl Scout troop raised enough money to bring a nationally-recognized documentary to the Johnson County area to help combat bullying.

They sold girl scout cookies for 53 cents a box to help pay the $500 fee required to screen the 2011 documentary, Finding Kind, in the Shawnee Mission East auditorium.

"Middle school is just next year -- coming around the corner. With the drama and craziness in middle school, I think this will better prepare them to be kind and good friends to each other," said co-leader of the Briarwood Elementary girl scouts Nikol Terrill.

Finding Kind is about two Pepperdine University students who traveled across the U.S. to show how women are bullying other women.
