SHAWNEE, Kan. - A Shawnee church is getting international help to make inspirational music.
A new pipe organ was delivered this week to Hope Lutheran Church on Quivira Road.
It arrived in nearly 2,000 pieces.
Right now, it's like piecing together a huge, jigsaw puzzle.
The longest pipe is 16 feet long. The shortest is half an inch long.
A premier organ builder and a native of Austria custom built the wooden pieces in his Washington State shop.
"Each time we build one, which an average organ takes us about a year to build then a few months to put it in here on its final location. We have a lot of fun doing it for sure, yes," said organ builder Martin Pasi.
