Missing Johnson County boy found safe

SHAWNEE, Kan. - Not long after police issued an alert to media about a boy missing from a Johnson County, Kan., elementary school, the boy arrived home safe.

Authorities in Shawnee were called to Bluejacket Flint Elementary School when the boy walked away from the school around 9 a.m.

A little before noon, the Shawnee Police Department sent out a statement with information about his disappearance and descriptive information about him.

By about 12:15 p.m., police said the boy had arrived home and was safe.
