outage map shows power has been restored to nearly all of the 6,900 customers that lost power earlier this morning.
UPDATE 10:18 a.m. | Spokesman David Mehlhaff says an incident at the Victory West Substation near Village West caused a transformer to go out.
At the height of the outage, nearly 6,900 customers were without power.
Mehlhaff says crews are working to restore power to most customers within the next two to three hours.
EARLIER | Troubleshooters are working to determine a cause of a power outage in Wyandotte County that left more than 4,800 customers without power.
Kansas City Board of Public Utilities Spokesman David Mehlhaff says the cause of the outage, which impacted an area centered on N. 78th Street and State Avenue, was not immediately known.
