A transfer station, located at 151st and Lone Elm Road in southwest Olathe, went up in flames late Thursday night.
Firefighters were called to the solid waste transfer station around 10:30 p.m. It took crews around four hours to control the fire, officials said.
Crews are working to determine the cause of the fire.
There were no injuries reported.
Regular trash and recycling will go on as normal.
The transfer station is where the City of Olathe takes all of its trash before another trash company can take it to a landfill.
