Olathe principal explains snow day jingle

OLATHE, Kan. - The Olathe principal and his family behind a viral snow day voicemail told 41 Action News that they had fun making it and never though it would get so much attention.

The five-member family, Tim, Marsha, Mollie, Cooper and Max invited us to their home Wednesday.

The voicemail they recorded together in the kitchen was a spoof off the summertime hit song, "What Does the Fox Say?"

"I think it's important that kids want to come to school and I think part of that comes from school being a fun place to be," Cedar Creek Elementary Principal Tim Reves said.

Although the family didn't appear to be too excited in the video they posted on YouTube, they said everyone wanted to be involved.

"In the beginning my dad said it was just going to be like a city watch," Max said.

"I think if we had known a whole bunch of people would see it, we were going to look more excited," Mollie said.

"I didn't expect 118,000 people to see this," Cooper said.

Their mother Marsha was actually the musical talent behind it so we put her to the test and made a sequel. Check out the video above to hear it.
