OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - City Union Mission, a Kansas City, Mo., homeless shelter, will open its newest city thrift store in Overland Park on Thursday.
The new store is located at 111th and Antioch Road.
The merchandise for the 17,000 square foot store is donated by members of the community, and the goods are sold at affordable prices to help families living on limited incomes.
It's also for people looking for one-of-a-kind treasures.
The income from the store benefits the Mission's programs and services.
"Just having the thrift store here will just give more exposure to our ministry and the needs that exist in the greater Kansas City area," said Dan Doty, director of City Union Mission.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
