Dog bites Overland Park woman, leaves scene

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a dog and its handler following a dog bite at a park Sunday afternoon.

A woman told police she was out on a walk around noon in the 9300 block of W. 93rd Street when a large German shepherd dog on a leash bit the woman in the leg.

The dog’s owner, described as a woman in her early 20s with black hair, 5’6” tall and weighing about 140 pounds, left the scene with the dog without exchanging information with the victim. Police say the dog’s owner was wearing large black sunglasses at the time of the bite.

The German shepherd has black and white fur with a harness around its shoulders.
