OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The third victim in the rampage that began at the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park, Kan., was shot at Village Shalom, an assisted living center at 123rd and Nall.
Sunday night the lights were still on there, with many residents still talking about what happened and searching for answers.
Crime scene investigators spent the afternoon working in the rain collecting evidence, taking pictures and talking with witnesses.
When relatives of residents found out what happened, they came running to find out if their loved one was ok.
The news that a woman was shot and killed in the parking lot was devastating, to residents and their families.
“You know, it just underscores the old memories we all have of how crazy people can be and what kind of attitudes they can have. I feel sorry that our society is generating such attitudes,” Richard Galler, whose father lives in Village Shalom, noted.
