CLAYCOMO, Mo. - For many longtime employees of Ford, the announcement of new jobs coming to the Claycomo Assembly Plant is welcome news.
Employees said that there are a lot of emotions after hearing the news on Thursday.
Cynthia Millentree has worked for 19 years at the Claycomo plant in the quality department. She checks the Ford F-150 pickups before they are sent off the line and to the car lot.
After the announcement, she noted that some people are cautiously optimistic about all the changes, but for the most part they are excited to be a part of this.
"It's all new and fresh to everybody with the Transit coming in and the F-150, we have been building them for a very long time so we are familiar with those with the new Transit coming in, it's going to be something new," Millentree said. "It's going to be a new adventure for us."
Millentree also said that she thinks the jobs announcement is a sign of an improving economy, one that she believes is helping people get back on their feet.
