UPDATE: AMBER Alert canceled, boy found safe in KCMO

Independence police said an AMBER Alert for a 9-month-old boy has been canceled. The boy was found safe with family members in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Independence police were initially called to a hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, in regard to a shooting that happened in Independence. The victim, Freddy Outley, told 41 Action News he was shot in the shoulder. Outley told police Robert Valliant abducted the 9-month-old and the child's mother. Independence police then issued an AMBER Alert. 

After the alert was issued, police contacted the child's mother and located her in Kansas City, Missouri. Independence police determined both the mother and child were safe. Police said the suspect vehicle, a black Pontiac Grand Am, was also located. 

Police are still looking for Valliant. He is a black male, 31 years old, 6’1” tall and 170 pounds. Police said he is still considered armed and dangerous.
