A man was killed and others were injured in a two-car crash Sunday night.
Independence police were called to the crash on MO-78 at Powell Road at 11 p.m.
Police said the crash happened when a 2014 Ford Focus that was traveling east on MO-78 crossed the center line and hit a westbound 2006 Dodge Caravan head-on.
The driver of the Focus, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passengers of the Caravan were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries, though not thought to be life-threatening.
The identity of the driver hasn’t been released at this time.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
