Two people are in critical condition after a shooting in Independence.
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Two people were shot in Independence Tuesday morning after a dispute between neighbors, according to police. Carl Bryant, Sr., and his wife Pamela are both in their 60s.
It happened near N. Osage Street and W. Farmer Avenue.
Police said the suspected shooter was barricaded inside the home for some time before being taken into police custody. The standoff ended around 7:45 a.m.
Police arrested their neighbor, 60-year-old Jeffrey Wahl. He's charged with two counts of assault and armed criminal action.
Both Carl and his wife were transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. Their current medical conditions are not yet known.
