INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — For years, one Independence woman has been transforming her yard into a grand Halloween display – complete with talking witches, moving brooms, flashing lights and smoke.
But this Halloween, Dana says some of her most memorable decorations disappeared.
Her pumpkins, gourds and lights fell victim to a thief who struck in the middle of the night.
"I looked around and thought 'oh my gosh'," said Dana. "She was just shopping and acting like not a care in the world.
Her home surveillance cameras captured the thief moving on and off her porch, grabbing decorations and bringing them to a parked car.
While she won't let it spook her Halloween, Dana has a message to the thief — beware.
"They really need to be careful in this area because everyone takes care of each other, you need to watch because that's dangerous," said Dana.
